This is a great app for staying up to date on news relevant to Indianapolis. Yes, it does show an ad when opened; but, the ads do not slow down the app, and the ads are not overwhelming. My only complaint is when a major story occurs: too many notices - one for every update to the story. But, on most days, the app is ideal.

The opacity for the severe weather is terrible. I go to the app to see how close the storm is and I cant see it. Opacity setting doesnt help. FIX IT. Or your "6 minutes before everyone else" marketing brand is useless.

Thus is the only news app that doesnt have a "share" button! Whats with that?

I watch this for the weather video and its gone!

WTHRs latest version of their app is terrible! They have promoted recent changes to their home page WTHR.com "resembling and working like their mobile app". Hope thats not the case? The latest version of their mobile app goes beyond trying to minimize the number of ads. In fact, it is only ads. For example, you want to view a video clip? Plan on being held captive for a 15 second commercial, followed by a blank screen with no video or audio present. (Good to see WTHR is at least paying the bills. Cudos to the Traffic Department for securing those accounts.) Hope the app developer can "tweak" this "feature" soon?

OMG SHUT UP WITH ELECTION NOTIFICATIONS!!!! Put a setting in the app to turn that crap off. I do not need 13 notifications about the election between 8 and 10 pm alone about it. Obviously if I cared I could follow it on the phone anyways. I get doing one with results but stop spamming and abusing the notifications. DONT INSTALL THIS APP!!! Update: latest update said they are listening to feedback but months have gone by and their is still not a way to turn their political Spam notifications off

Stop with the stupid notifications! Im about to delete the app. If I wanted to keep up with the olympics or other news I can open the app. Use notifications for IMPORTANT breaking news or severe weather only.

Since latest update the app does not open. After attempts over several days I have deleted the pp and turned to an app from wishtv.

I use this app everyday. The ads bog it down. Ive actually got a complaint about one of the ads - it has a woman in lingerie laying in bed. I dont want to see that while Im getting the news. If youre going to have ads at least make sure theyre relevant/appropriate. Next, many of the videos in the app just dont work. I either have to restart the app or it just shuts down by itself. It seems like theyre trying to add too many things to the app and its not working the way its supposed to. I like the news part of the app, but overall - its fine.

The local news and weather when I want it! A+++++

Im not a big fan of the Nightbeat. However, I do like this app. Its layout is simple and well organized. Look, its not the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal so dont expect any in-depth coverage of specific issues. But its not trying to be that. Its a decent amount of state, national, health, sports, and entertainment to get me through my breakfast. And of the Local TV News apps, this one is the tops! But there is one last thing... The recent update (August 2016) added a new home screen and it seems like there is now LESS news. Many of the same stories stick around for multiple days. I wouldnt mind returning to the older version that had more news.

I use this app several times a day for my weather and news updates, only news I use!

The Channel 13 app is excellent! Weather Map & other features...also excellent.

I love accessing WTHR in the morning as I get ready and am away from a tv. However, the required ad before the show streams is way too long. Sometimes Ill join breaking news and it shows up there, as well. I miss the key part of the story just waiting for the ad to play. Very frustrating.

I love my Channel 13 news but this app is the worst to find things easily. The advertising is overkill and redundant for every story you want to see. Check out your competition. They are much easier to read and have full stories not just short snippets.

Loads too slow with the fancy graphics.

Works great and keeps me in the loop of everything going on. Much better than the other local competition!

So far things have been working out very good with the App. I get notifications about whats happening here in town and all around the country and the world for that matter. The only thing I have any problems with is the videos. The adds are too long, and sometimes the videos dont start.

I used to live in Middletown Indiana. Lived there 18 years. Now I live In Shrewsbury Mo. I like to keep up with Indy stuff.

I love the station but not the app. There are only a handful of stories and they dont seem to change day to day. Photos with no stories. I have now abandoned the app for the site. This all cattywampus within the last month. I have deleted it and reinstalled with no improvement. Please fix this app.
